The “Critical Emergency Supplies / Shelf Stable Ready to Eat Food Packs” category is accessible by using the Search function at the upper right of the page. Enter “Shelf-Stable HeaterMeals” (HeaterMeals is one word). We are listed as ”HeaterMeals 3 Self Heating Meal Kits - Innotech Products, Ltd.” Our Standardized Equipmnt List (SEL) category is “Operational and US&R Equipment \ Other Operational and US&R Equipment.” Our SEL ID number is 214027. The following grant programs allow the purchase of "Critical Emergency Supplies."
Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (RCPGP) - This program was created "...to enhance catastrophic incident preparedness" in those "11 pre-designated high-risk, high-consequence urban areas." The program "...is intended to support coordination of regional all-hazard planning for all catastrophic events, including the development of integrated planning communities, plans, protocols, and procedures to manage a catastrophic event." Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) - To supplement and expand ongoing efforts to provide shelter, food and supportive services for the nation’s hungry, homeless, and people in economic crisis. Emergency Mgmt. Performance Grant (EMPG) - To assist state and local governments in enhancing and sustaining all-hazards emergency management capabilities. State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) - To build capabilities at the state and local levels to implement the state homeland security goals and objectives identified in the State Preparedness Report. The 9/11 Act requires states to dedicate 25 percent of SHSP funds to law enforcement terrorism prevention-oriented planning, organization, training, exercise and equipment activities. Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) - To enhance regional preparedness by strengthening capabilities in 64 high-threat, high-density urban areas across the country. The 9/11 Act requires states to dedicate 25 percent of UASI funds to law enforcement terrorism prevention-oriented activities.
As part of the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) grant, the Emergency Management Performance Grants (EMPG) Program, and the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) grant, HeaterMeals are classified as “Critical Emergency Supplies (shelf-stable food products),” and are also covered under, "Allowable Exercise Related Costs." In addition, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) funds have been used to purchase HeaterMeals for home delivered clients to supply food during emergencies, and for holidays and bad weather days. |
